Training with Pride has effectively developed practice for all of my staff and myself. In the changing climate where behaviour has become more challenging in schools, I feel more confident that my staff understand the benefits of de-escalation and feel equipped to manage behaviour in a supportive way.

Having delivered training to all of my Teaching Assistants and Teachers, it is evident that the consistent approach is making a difference to our adults and children. Children know that they will be met with kindness and respect and that they will be supported through challenging times and my staff feel the same.

The values led approach aligns well with our own school values and 'feels' better for staff and children. As a Trainer, the support I have received from Training with Pride - even with the little things - has enabled me to be confident when delivering training both in and out of my own school. During the Train the Trainer course I was able to ask questions to confirm and clarify my understanding alongside a peer group. The online resources are easy to access and there is always someone to help at the end of the phone or e-mail when I have needed further support.

During a recent visit, Ofsted recognised the benefits of having a Trainer in school and within our network of schools as a strength and that it demonstrated the priority it has been given within our school.

I have been a trainer for various programmes surrounding behaviour and Restrictive Physical Restraint since 2008. I retrained in 2023 with Training with Pride. Since delivering this programme I feel strongly that it is excellent training that benefits the whole school and all staff. The clear, concise course content and smooth delivery benefits everyone who comes into contact with children, parents, carers, and all adults.

The practical strategies are relevant and nurturing, in line with up-to-date guidelines, research and DfE guidelines meeting the needs of the more complex profiles of children and families in society today.

The emphasis is on de-escalation and after the course, participants have expressed they feel empowered to manage behaviours that previously have challenged them, in a consistent and professional manner. There are opportunities within this course to unpick those behaviours that have escalated to unacceptable levels with a focus on reflective practice.
